The Itinerary.
Day One: Welcome!
Welcome to Banff! It’s time to meet your new friends and get to know your hosts Kierra and Elliott. After a quick meet & greet, we will head to The Bear Street Tavern together for a group dinner before the first classroom session: intro to travel photography.
Day Two: Moraine and Peyto Lake
No time to waste! It’s an early wake-up call as we head to Moraine Lake for blue hour. After photographing the sunrise, we will return to Banff for our second classroom session: the fundamentals of editing. Elliott and Kierra will reveal their photography secrets and editing tips to take your photography to the next level. For sunset, we will make our way to Peyto Lake.
Day Three: Hiking the Rockies
It’s an even earlier wake-up call! Join the crew for a night hike to make it to Minnestimma Lake for sunrise. If we are lucky, we will catch the last larches! Spend the afternoon relaxing and editing before attending the last classroom session: the business of photography. To end the day, we will make our way to Emerald Lake for sunset and blue hour.
Day Four: The Last Sunrise
One last sunrise! Together we will head to the famous Lake Louise to catch the alpenglow. After breakfast at the Fairmont Lake Louise, we will head back to Banff to check out. Then it’s time to say goodbye!
Things you should know.
Do I need to be vaccinated?
To ensure the safety of all participants everyone must either be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to the workshop OR provide a negative COVID-19 test result in order to attend. The PCR-test must be conducted within 72 hours prior to the start of the workshop. If you are not able to present valid proof of vaccination or a negative PCR-test you will not be able to attend the workshop and will not receive a refund. If you test positive prior to the workshop you will receive a 50% refund.
Do I need to be experienced in photography?
This workshop is for everyone!! From hobbyists who are looking to learn photography in a fun environment to those who are interested in becoming professional, everyone will learn something new from this workshop.
What equipment do I need/what should I bring?
For this workshop, all participants must have either a DSLR or mirrorless camera, a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens (a zoom such as a 24-105 will work), a tripod, a computer with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, and an external hard drive. Banff can be a bit chilly during October, so please bring adequate, warm clothing. Temperatures range between 5-15 degrees. Please bring proper footwear for hiking, a water bottle, and a headlamp.
Do I need a pass to enter Banff National Park?
You will need a park pass to enter Banff National Park. A park pass costs $10.00 per adult per day, so each participant will be looking to pay $30.00. The park pass can be purchased either online or at the gate.
Do I need my own vehicle?
Yes, you are responsible for your own transportation to and from all locations.
What if I am not allowed into Canada?
Participants are responsible for doing their own research and getting into Canada.
Are accommadations provided?
Accommodations are not provided. When booking your accommodation, please stay in the town of Banff or Canmore (20 minute drive away).
What is the refund policy?
Due to the current pandemic situation, we cannot guarantee your entry to Canada as the regulations may change at any given moment. Until September 10th, 2021, at 23:59 EST, you will receive a full refund if you cannot attend the workshop due to border restriction related reasons. If the workshop does not reach 80% capacity two weeks prior to the workshop, the workshop will be canceled and you will be fully refunded. If you cancel within 24 hours of reserving your spot you will receive a full refund. No shows or cancellations after 24 hours will not receive a refund.
Do I have to pay in full right away?

What if it rains?
This workshop will proceed rain or shine. However, some items on the itinerary may change based on the weather.
